Guys,
Thought I would say a quick hello before I crash for the night.
Sold the Strom a week before the ship sailed in early Feb. It was a fairly painful choice to make but the wife played a minor role. I recently bought here a new Lancer, so to make some room I sold the bike since I wouldn't be riding it much.
Been at sea since. The ship is in Brisbane and coming out of the water for maintenance this week. I was lucky enough to be flown home for 2 weeks leave which meant me being home for the kids birthdays and my eight wedding anniversary. I fly back to Brisbane on the 19th and will be staying there for a month or so in these flash apartments (cost $390) a night situated right on the Brisbane river. So its not too bad.
The ship returns back to WA in May.
Now Rats, you'll appreciate this. Even though I sold my bike, I am looking after a mates bike for a while. Its a Ducati monster (916 engine) with Termigogni twin pipes. It sounds and rides abso-friggin-lutely sensational. I am in love with this exceptional piece of Italian craftmanship. It makes my freckle tighten up when I twist the throttle whilst also making my old fella stand up........i want one ;D Not too keen on the servicing costs however.
I am looking in the trading post and shopping for my next bike which I plan to purchase over in Brisbane and bring back on the ship with me. Any ideas anyone? I really do like the BMW 650's like Al's.
The DR's are a great bike.........just every tom, dick & harry has one!
Going to take the family down to the Margaret River on Wednesday for a few days. Staying in a flash cottage with a massive spa. So prior to spa action, we'll drop into a few wineries and purchase a few bottles. A dirty weekend with the kids as well? Its not what it sounds like. We'll have to get the young ones tuckered out on the swings so they goto bed early and sleep in.
Will jump on in a day or two.
Best wishes to all.
Regards,
Thommo
