In 1995, a notorious line crossing ceremony took place on an Australian submarine HMAS Onslow. Sailors undergoing the ceremony were physically and verbally abused before being subjected to an act called "sump on the rump", where a dark liquid was daubed over each sailor's anus and genitalia. One sailor was then sexually assaulted with a long stick before all sailors undergoing the ceremony were forced to jump overboard until permitted to climb back aboard the submarin Taken from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line-crossing_ceremonySo admit it who's had this happen to them or did it to others ;D

mate, as you know i have been over it twice, and both times it was slghtly disappointing. I managed to fight off the shellbacks and the sheriff, but alas was overcome by sheer numbers and forced to my knees..... I say keep the cameras and the soft cocks away, and it is a great tradition, that should be upheld... there are always some that take it a little too far, but lets keep it in perspective... these says, you dont evenn have to partake, and there is no stripping you down and pouring of sump oil into your orrifices. Its still leaves an undesired sting in your eyes and for the less cast iron stomachs you may well throwup, but its all in jest and in the end we're all mates on a big steel island. i loved it, and managed to get good punch on the swain, so that made my day ;D

we still do it in commercial shipping - perhaps not with the same gusto as the grey funnel mob. The worst part of our last affair was cleaning the deck of the foul mix made up for the intruders into King Neptune's realm. Good clean fun, but no-body should come to permanent harm.

I don't know about the permanent harm because on that link it said that some sailors were even tie and towed from the stern of the ship . Then again would you prefer that to getting a broom in the butt ;D

your all soft... nah, the worst things these days is a mix of stale rotton food and drink mixed up together and thrown at you all while you wait you turn to bow before king neptune, some of us just dont like to go that easily ;D Then you get to jump off the ship to clean up (not mandatory either), we do have showers, but remember, if you trudge all that crap in through ship, you and ya mates will be cleaning it up later anyway, so option one is usually taken.
